Your first visit

A first slow facial takes 75 or 90 minutes, and tea is part of it. Here is what happens, in order.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Book your visit

Choose a slow facial on the booking page, or call the studio and we'll book it with you. A deposit holds your time and goes toward your visit. If you'd like to talk first, book the 20-minute consultation on its own.

    • Book online or call, whichever is easier

    • Choose Jacquelyn or Jeanne, or let us choose

  2. 02

    Step 2: What to bring

Nothing, except your reading glasses if you'd like to read your note before you leave. If you'd like to talk about what you use at home, bring it or a photo of the labels.

    • Reading glasses, if you use them

    • A list of anything that has stung before

  3. 03

    Step 3: When you arrive

We're at 86 St. Paul Street, Suite 1, with a level entrance from the sidewalk and no stairs. Come 10 minutes early for a first visit. There's a bench in the hall, tea and cucumber water, and a short form that is printed in large type.

    • Street parking is on St. Paul Street

    • The form is on the booking page too, if you'd like to fill it in at home

  4. 04

    Step 4: What to expect

You start with ten minutes of talking, then warm towels, a gentle cleanse, a slow massage, a mask and a rest. We tell you what we are going to do before we do it, and you can ask us to pause at any time.

    • We explain each step first

    • The room is kept warm, and there are extra blankets

  5. 05

    Step 5: Afterward

You sit up slowly, with tea, and we give you a short note in large type: what we used and how to look after your skin until your next visit. Book that visit on the way out, or later online.

    • Results vary, and your skin may look pink for an hour or so

Tea first, if you like

Come a few minutes early. There's a bench in the hall, a pitcher of cucumber water and a pot of tea, and a short form printed in large type. Nobody will call you in until you're ready.
